My Sewing Corner

My little sewing corner is coming along. I was going to try a darker color for the wall, but I couldn't imagine myself working in a dark room. So I painted the wall light blue. I mounted the wall shelving. I bought the longest IKEA table top and legs. It's nice that I could leave my serger next to my Baby Lock and still have space for a cutting mat. It's not an ideal working surface because of the low height, but it's okay for now. I will figure out the space where I could iron and cut fabric without hurting my back.

I went for those plastic drawers because they fit perfectly under the table with room for my knees...

i had this vintage spool rack for years, but never put it in use. finally it found a place...
these pin cushions are from my friend for my birthday. three eggs in the nest from last year, and this year she knitted three peas in a pod. Isn't she great? She is a crazy knitter who even knitted a human size sock monkey :-) Thank you, Izumi!

my little tools...

i framed my doll quilt top...it's good to see those discontinued prints...
i could've gone to one size longer rails for future expansion, but i ran out of the energy to redo...

one of my boy's best art work. a self-portrait from the 4th grade...

  1. Oh my gosh -- that corner is so perfect! The paint, the spool rack, the art and pin cushions -- even the cute little baby shoes! It is just wonderful. Thanks for a peek!

  3. Thanks! Glad you like it. It's still boxes of fabric sitting around. I need to organize them. And peek is good.
