Along with my favorite tomatoes and peaches, I also picked up some apples at the farmers market last week. They were tart and perfect for baking, the girl told me. I'd been wanting to make this recipe. So I got home with these organic apples. Very pretty, and of course no waxing! I can't stand touching those waxed apples (and tomatoes) at the grocery stores. The tart was delicious and easy peasy to make.

For the tart, I used walnuts instead of almonds...

this tea towel fabric is great! (from last month's cover) two sides are already sewn for you. just get the length you want and sew the two ends.
